Action Figure Case Made to Measure — millimetre-precise for your figure

Acrylic manufactory in Germany for over 20 years

Fully enclosed case in crystal-clear 4 mm acrylic — for figures in their original packaging (MOC blisters) just as much as for loose figures. You set the dimensions to the millimetre, and the blister holder (rail, single or double frame) comes at no extra charge. From the second case onwards the unit price falls automatically.

What a made-to-measure case is built for

Developed for Masters of the Universe collectors — long since in use for many other lines.

MotU — Vintage & Origins MOC

The classic: figures “mint on card” from the eighties or from the Origins line. The case protects card and blister from dust, knocks and fingers — the holder fixes the card in place without any glue.

→ To the MotU collector's world

Other Carded Figures

Star Wars, G.I. Joe, Turtles, WWE, Marvel and anything else that hangs on a card: you set the dimensions freely in millimetres — the case adapts to the packaging, not the other way round.

Loose Figures & Dioramas

Without a blister holder the case is a fully enclosed display case for the unpacked figure — with accessories or a small base as well. Minimum height 121 mm, maximum 600 mm.

Whole Collection Lines

A whole wall of MOC figures? Thanks to the quantity discount the unit price falls automatically with every additional unit ordered — same dimensions, one order, one delivery.

Ready-Made Cases for MotU

For many MotU lines there are proven standard sizes as ready-made cases — orderable directly, with no configuring.

Extra-deep packaging, double blisters, unusual formats: if the configurator will not accept a dimension, write to us — a great deal can be solved as a special order.

Fully enclosed: how the case is built

The case uses the same plug-and-screw construction as our made-to-measure display cases — with one difference: it is not open at the bottom but has a cover panel at the top and at the bottom. Once assembled, the box is closed on all six sides.

The front and back panels are identical. During assembly one of the two panels is left off at first: screw the case together, insert the blister, then slot the last panel into place and screw it down — done. To change the figure you simply unscrew that one panel again; nothing is glued.

The blister holder: four versions, all at no extra charge

The holder fixes the card of the blister inside the case — no glue, no drilling, purely by means of slotted-in retaining rails in 4 mm acrylic. Which version you choose is a matter of taste; each has its purpose.

All four versions cost the same. “Rail” is what the configurator calls the single rail; the assembly instructions call it a retaining rail.
VersionHow it worksEffect on the inside dimensions
none The blister is held by the case dimensions alone: you measure the packaging and order the case so that it fits exactly. Also the right choice for loose figures. none — inside dimensions = usable dimensions
rail
(retaining rail at the top)
A single rail at the top presses the upper edge of the card against the back panel. For blisters with no room for a frame all the way round — it also protects the card from bending. none — inside dimensions = usable dimensions
single frame Four separate retaining rails all the way round press the card flat against the back panel. The rails sit at the frame gap (standard 1 mm = card thickness) in front of the back panel. none — the frame only holds the card at its edges, so you can measure the blister directly
double frame In addition an outer frame sits directly against the back panel; the card is held at its edges between the outer and the inner frame and does not touch the back panel. usable depth −4 mm — please add 4 mm to your desired depth

Without a holder — section from above

Section through the case: the blister fits exactly, the bubble reaches to just short of the front panel front ← view from above → back panel exact fit: the case dimensions hold the blister

No frame, no rail: the case is dimensioned so that the blister fits exactly — the card rests against the back panel and the bubble ends just short of the front panel.

Single frame — section from above

Section through the case: retaining rails on the inside press the blister card against the back panel front ← view from above → back panel blue: retaining rails — card against the back panel

The four retaining rails (blue) sit at a 1 mm frame gap in front of the back panel — exactly the thickness of the card. The card is pressed flat against the back panel. The inside dimensions remain fully usable.

Double frame — section from above

Section through the case: the card held between the outer and the inner frame, 4 mm in front of the back panel front ← view from above → back panel yellow: outer frame — card 4 mm in front of it

The outer frame (yellow) sits directly against the back panel, then comes the 1 mm gap for the card, then the inner frame (blue). The card is held only at its edges and sits 4 mm in front of the back panel — add those 4 mm to the depth.

The frame gap — the “Distance to back panel” field in the configurator:

The frame gap is the space between the retaining rails and the back panel — it matches the card thickness of your blister and applies to the rail and to both frames.

leave the field at 0 = standard 1 mm thicker card? → enter 2 mm, for example

Measuring is easy: take the card thickness at an edge with a vernier caliper — or stay with the standard value, which suits the vast majority of blisters.

How to configure your case in 3 minutes

The configurator calculates as you go — you see the price, the outside dimensions and the quantity discount straight away.

Measure the blister

Width, depth and height of the packaging — in millimetres.

Careful: mm, not cm as with the display cases!

Enter the inside dimensions

With the double frame: desired depth + 4 mm.

Choose a holder

None, rail, single or double frame — all at no extra charge.

Quantity & order

The unit price falls automatically with the quantity. Delivery approx. 8 working days.

Inside dimensions vs. outside dimensions:

You enter the inside dimensions — the space for the figure. Because of the material thickness and the plug-and-screw system the outside dimensions are slightly larger:

outside width = inside width + 14 mm outside depth = inside depth + 8 mm outside height = inside height + 14 mm

The live calculation shows the finished outside dimensions as well — handy when several cases are to stand side by side on a shelf.

Dimension limits

The configurator checks all limits automatically before you can order.

Width40 mm600 mmonly one of width and height may be over 500 mm; above 500 mm a blister holder is no longer possible

Quantity discount: the unit price falls by itself

Collectors rarely order just one case. That is why the price contains a one-off share of the base costs — it is charged only once per order, no matter how many cases of the same size you order.

You do not have to do anything for it: simply increase the quantity in the configurator and the live calculation immediately shows the reduced unit price. In the basket the order appears as a single line item; the number of units is given as “Quantity … pcs” in the item name.

The Sora plug-and-screw system: nothing glued, fully demountable

The case arrives flat-packed as a construction kit — six panels, 16 M2,5 screws with nuts. Assembly takes a few minutes, and because nothing is glued the case can be opened again at any time to change the figure.

By the way: our plug-and-screw system is no passing fashion — we developed it ourselves more than 20 years ago and had it officially registered as a utility model. View the original document as a PDF ↗

Safe shipping Even large numbers of cases travel flat and arrive undamaged.
Open it at any time Unscrew one panel, change the figure, close it again.
Spare parts Every panel and every retaining rail can be reordered on its own.

Material and quality

High-grade industrial-quality PMMA acrylic glass — crystal-clear, lightfast, lighter and more impact-resistant than glass.

4 mm panels & retaining rails
> 92 % light transmission
M2,5 countersunk screws & nuts
approx. 8 working days delivery time

Important for MOC collectors: UV behaviour

The acrylic glass itself does not yellow and does not become brittle even after years in the light. But: it offers no UV protection for the contents — and printed blister cards from the eighties in particular fade in direct sunlight. So never put MOC treasures in the sun; that applies with and without a case.

Cleaning: a soft cloth, lukewarm water, a little washing-up liquid — or an acrylic glass cleaner. No glass cleaners containing alcohol or ammonia, no abrasives.

What you should know after delivery

Don’t be alarmed: the protective film

When your parcel arrives, the acrylic parts will probably look blue, green, white or even scratched. That is the protective film covering every part on both sides to prevent scratches during production and shipping.

Simply lift the film at one corner with your fingernail — acrylic cannot be scratched by a fingernail. It is best to peel off all the films before assembly; once a case is closed you can no longer reach the inside surfaces.

Frequently asked questions about made-to-measure action figure cases

Do I give the dimensions in centimetres or millimetres?

In millimetres — unlike our made-to-measure display cases, which work in centimetres. Action figure packaging often differs by only a few millimetres, hence the finer unit. All dimensions are inside dimensions.

How do I measure my blister correctly?

Lay the card flat and measure the width × height of the card, then take the deepest point of the blister bubble as the depth. Add 1–2 mm of clearance so that the blister slips in comfortably. Exception, double frame: here add a further 4 mm to your desired depth, because the card is held 4 mm in front of the back panel.

Which blister holder is the right one?

That is a matter of taste — all four versions cost the same. None: the case encloses the blister with an exact fit (and is the choice for loose figures). Rail: a rail at the top presses the upper edge of the card against the back panel — good when there is no room for a frame all the way round. Single frame: four retaining rails press the card flat against the back panel. Double frame: the card is held at its edges between two frames and does not touch the back panel.

What does the “Distance to back panel” field mean?

That is the frame gap: the space between the retaining rails and the back panel in which the card sits. If you leave the field at 0, we make it with the standard of 1 mm — which suits the vast majority of blisters. Only with thicker card do you enter the thickness you have measured, 2 mm for example. The value applies to the rail just as much as to both frames.

Why do I have to add 4 mm of depth with the double frame?

With the double frame the outer frame (4 mm acrylic) sits against the back panel first, and in front of it, at the frame gap, sits the card. The bearing plane of the blister is therefore 4 mm in front of the back panel — the usable depth is reduced accordingly. So order the desired depth you have measured plus 4 mm. With the rail and the single frame this is not necessary, as the card rests directly against the back panel.

Do a frame or a rail make the inside dimensions smaller?

No — with one exception. Frames and rails only hold the edges of the card; the usable interior for the blister remains the full inside dimension. So you can measure the packaging and enter it directly. The only exception is the depth with the double frame (−4 mm, see above).

How does the quantity discount work?

The price contains a one-off share of the base costs, which is charged only once per order. If you increase the quantity in the configurator, it is spread over all the cases — the unit price falls automatically and the live calculation shows it straight away. In the basket this is a single line item; the number of units is given in the item name.

Are the dimensions inside or outside dimensions?

Always inside dimensions. Because of the material thickness and the plug-and-screw system the outside dimensions are slightly larger: outside width = inside width + 14 mm, outside depth = inside depth + 8 mm, outside height = inside height + 14 mm. The live calculation shows them as well.

How large can the case be?

Width 40–600 mm, depth 30–300 mm, height 121–600 mm. Only one of width and height may be over 500 mm, and above 500 mm a blister holder is no longer possible. For larger special formats it is best to ask us directly.

Can I get to the figure again later?

Yes, at any time. Nothing is glued: the front and back panels are identical, and one of them is only slotted in and screwed down. To change the figure, undo the screws of that one panel, take the panel off, done.

One part is scratched or broken — do I have to buy everything again?

No. Every panel and every retaining rail can be reordered on its own — the spare part numbers (20200a–h) are given in the assembly instructions. You will find the spare parts in the spare parts configurator.

Only one part broken?

Thanks to the plug-and-screw system every component can be reordered on its own — panels and retaining rails alike.
